Local Labour Market Planning Process and Report

The research undertaken by the Peel Halton Workforce Development Group each year, that could include: primary/secondary research; surveys; primary stakeholder interviews and focus groups, provides a foundation for us and our community partners to discuss and prioritize labour market challenges and opportunities for Peel and Halton.

We undertake community consultations with key local stakeholders to effectively create a community action plan to resolve high priority issues identified in the consultations. Each year we compile a Trends, Opportunities and Priorities (TOP) report that captures our research, consultation process and the community action plan and outlines specific actions. This cornerstone publication is shared with the community.

Collaborative Partnerships

Each year we undertake a minimum of four that are intended to act on high priority labour market issues identified at the community consultation meetings. We work on these priorities in collaboration with partners from among our stakeholders who have identified a need to address the specific labour market issue.

Workforce Focus Newsletters

We publish Workforce Focus Newsletters at least six times a year, to provide current and accurate labour market data for Peel and Halton. Each issue of this newsletter focuses on a different sector/area of the local labour market

NewComer Organizations Network (NCON)

The Newcomer Organizations Network (NCON) is a networking group for those who work with Newcomers to Canada in all aspects of their settlement. NCON has a mission to inform, educate, and network with members regarding programs, issues, funding opportunities and concerns pertaining to newcomers in the Peel and Halton areas. To achieve this the group meets quarterly for breakfast networking meetings held on the first Thursday of the month in October, January, April and July from 9:00 to 11:30 am. The Peel Halton Workforce Development Group organizes these quarterly meetings.
